George Lake and Goose Lake Exploration Projects, Nunavut, Canada

Dundee Precious Metals operated the George Lake and Goose Lake properties which are part of what is known as the "Back River Project".  In 2009, Sabina Gold & Sliver Corp. purchased the properties.  The Back River project consists of 7 properties: Goose Lake, George Lake, Boot Lake, Boulder Pond, Needle Lake, Del Lake and the Bath 1 Claim which are centered in the southwestern part of Nunavut.  The Back River Project is situated approximately 520 km northeast of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories and 50 km southeast of the Hackett River Project.

Nuna's Role

Under contract to Dundee Precious Metals Inc., NUNA's services included:

  • Purchasing, mobilization and transportation of drill equipment, support equipment and fuel from Yellowknife to the George Lake and Goose Lake sites.

  • Establishment of a 162 km route from Contwoyto Lake to George Lake and Goose Lake for Nodwell transportation of the drill and support equipment.

  • Construction of ice airstrips at both George Lake and Goose Lake locations.

  • Co-ordination of fuel lifts by air from Lupin to the sites.
